How did you handle a subordinate who didn't want to follow you?

Have you ever experienced encountering a subordinate who showed disagreement with your plan? There was that time when I made a schedule for all teachers to demonstrate how they teach their students in front of all teachers. The purpose of the activity was for sharing the methods and skills of each teacher. However, as I was making the schedule, two of the teachers gave me a reaction saying that i should not do that. If you were me, how were you supposed to handle such behavior?
