A big favor from your overseas friend?

Taxes are a bit unfair. Unfortunately, it is one of two things I know that is certain in this world (Benjamin Franklin). Here in my country, the taxes are high! A bit more than in the other neighboring (first world) countries. If you have a friend from that country where taxes are comparatively less or nil than in your homeland, would you ask your friend a big favor? Well this favor would be in the context that you have been dreaming of buying this "GIFT" for yourself. DSLR camera? ipod? Celfone? Laptop? Flat screen HDTV? Nintendo wii? PSP? Anything! You just can't buy it because of the tax. Of course, you will pay him/her. It's just that, it's more, shall we say "cost effective" if he/she buys it there? He he he. So, are we going to ask that favor?

it's not a big deal i think to ask something like that to a friend of yours, first thing is that you assured him that you'll pay him for the goods that you are asking to him to buy for you, for the price less than what you are about to spend when you buy it here. i do that most of the time, especially when it comes to consumer electronic products were it'll take 3 more months or so just for that products to be introduced here in the country. i once ask a friend to buy me a Playstation 2 in the U.S..cause i am really looking forward to have my hands and be the first owner of the said unit here in the country. the U.S. launch of the Playstation 2 there was $300. it'll be brought here in the Philippines after 3 long months and the price will surely be much higher than the price in the U.S. don't be afraid to ask something like that to your friend cause you are paying him back, right?

Acutally, I've done that too. Some of the things we have here are sooo expensive compared to the prices they have there (eg. US). So I plan what to get and where to get them. Like now, am looking for a book that's from Australia. They don't have it here so I asked a friend of mine to buy it for me. Unfortunately, he doesn't have time to buy cause he left already. damn! LOL Nice to from you! Thanks!

It is easy to think that our friends have it easy and could always lend us a hand or hand us something cool. I don't think this is the right thing to think about. They do have their own problems. I should just try to do things the best I can. Cheers!!
