Are you a good listener?

Some people make a good listener and other people don't. Do you make a good listener? I consider someone to be a good listener when they don't cut in on your converstation and don't judge you. A good listener won't go and tell everyone about your conversation. What do you think makes someone a good listener? Are you lucky enough to have someone in your life who is a good listener?

A good listener is someone who listens intently with meaning to what you say. So many people listen and then block you out as they think how your story applies to their lives i.e. their response usually goes 'Well, I' or 'My'. They try to have a better story tha you. I have always listened to someone and just let them speak until they are finished. Then I try to give some good advice. Something good and honest, no lies. I wish I had a listener who did just that.

There are times we just want people to listen. I agree with what you said. A good listener does not interrupt you when you're talking. He only gives advice when you seek it.
