Giving your on your vows and Promises

Am posting this to get the opinion of all you wonder pals of mylot community. Has any of you ever had to give up on the promises and vows you made to a dear just because they grew up and found something new that they think would be better than what they shared with you? I had to give up on someone that I truly care about cos she took the decision to leave cos I was too philosophical...but it truly hurts! Tell have you been in a similar situation
