How long does it take you...

to get over something? My husband said some really hurtful things to me this morning and it left such a feeling of abandonment. Not that we are seperating or he is leaving or anything. I feel like, he was the person I depended on for everything. He is my best friend. He was the last person I ever expected to hear this from. It is more of just hurt feelings and "now who do I rely on for emotional support" kind of thing. I have a hard time moving past things like this and I was just wondering how long it takes you all to get over something hurtful that was said to you by a spouse or anyone close?

I don't think I ever get over such things. Well when something hurtful has happened to me in the night, I couldn't sleep and I still think about it in the morning. I will try to keep myself preoccupied but I still contemplate on what has happened. Imagine me mopping the floor with a sad expression on my face which is unusual because I do my duties gladly... Then I would forget about it after a few days but there will come a triggering situation when it just all comes back to me. I don't know but I even have issues dating back from my childhood! Well, whenever I am feeling down because of things of the past or worry myself with what's gonna happen, I just remind myself that this is what living on earth is all about. Much the same way as gold is tested by flame... Then my worries will end when my faith begins and do my best for the moment.

Usually it takes me a while...depending on who it is. As for you and your Hubby, I think I'd sit down and talk to him about it. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

Yes, someone has said hurtful, awful, terrible things to me and I could not get over it until I expressed how I felt about it. I waited until I was calm or at least not in danger of crying and exploding into an emotional fireball......and then I told that person exactly how I felt as quickly and percisely as possible. Since today is Superbowl Sunday....I would not recommend that you do it today (if he is into football). The male mind is a little distracted today....lol maybe tomorrow, but it is definitely important for you to express how you feel. I hope you feel better :)
