What age do you start making birth control avabile to you kids?

When do you make comdoms avabile to your sons and the pill or other kind of birth control avabile to you daughters. Or do you leave it up to them to find that kind of stuff on their own? I have a 14 year old that has friends that are as old as 17 almost 18. All of his friend know were I keep the comdoms (In the living room) and they all know I don't ask questions if some ar missing. I always keep it full. The reason for this is because I have seen too many friends die with AIDS and I don't want to watch anymore go that way.
