What's on your floors?

About 95% of our floors have carpeting right now. There is no carpeting in our bathroom or the kitchen. I would love to get new carpeting someday, but right now we can't because 1)money, and 2) our cat needs neutered first. We're gonna take it one step at a time.

I just have carpet in the bedrooms now I ripped all the carpet out of the living room and dining room. Would you believe there was even carpet in one of my bathrooms! I'll be glad when I can get the money to redo all of it. I think I'm going to put hardwood floors everywhere. My carpet is so old that it doesn't even look good anymore.

There use to be carpet in our bathroom. My dad ripped it out when he was fixing the toilet, so he put some leftover tiles in the bathroom. It definitely makes it easier to clean the floors.

If it's done right, you might be able to make it work. However, 9 times out of 10, I think it'd be a water problem and mildew. The water would collect in the fibers. It would just get nasty.

I ripped the carpet out of that bathroom to. The toilet overflowed and stained the carpet and it looked real bad. I don't know why anyone would want to put carpet in a bathroom for anyway.

I live in a one bedroom flat and I have carpet everywhere. These flats are quite modern now and so you have some of the neighbours with laminate flooring. You can hear absolutely everything! I'm sure the lady upstairs walks around with her high heels on, that's what it sounds like!!! I think carpet contributes as regards keeping the place warm as well. I have exercise equipment in my flat and I'm sure that it would pose a problem if I did not have carpet down. Andrew

I would think that the exercise equipment would scrape up your floor. Carpet can be a good thing. It does contribute to keeping you warmin the winter. I like that factor because then your feet isn't right against cold floor.

I used to live in an apartment that was fully carpeted and i hated it. It was so hard to maintain. Now in my new house, apart from a normal "mat" like carpet, the rest is tiled. It's much easier to get it cleaned and there won't be any cases of mites of hair stuck. In fact i wish to get rid of that "mat" carpet of ours in the living room. But my dad claims it's very expensive. BUt the doesn't bother cleaning it.

Only two rooms in my house have carpeting, one of the rooms is my bedroom, so I like that. Every other room has hard wood flooring, and in the bathroom there is a stone mosaic floor. I wouldn't want anymore carpet, I like it the way it is. The floors are easy to clean as they are already. There is not much traffic where there is carpet so it is nice and clean and only needs to be vacuumed here and there. So I am pretty happy

It sounds like you have it easy in that aspect. Very little vacuuming is always a plus in my book.

I live in a dorm and the floors are all tile. I would love to have some carpet. But at my house most of it is hardwood except for my bedroom.

There are some carpet stores that sell their remanents, so you don't have to buy carpeting the regular way. If you want to carpet only certain rooms, you can do it this way. If you're going to install it yourself, it's so much cheaper than if you had it done professionally.
