Just out of curiosity are Tennessee and Kentucky considered disaster areas? From what I have heard they should be! And I do think it is ridiculous that no one from the white house has said anything.

Obama did sign a disaster declaration on the 29th for KY. But it only briefly made headlines. No, he really hasn't done much else. Beshear is seeking federal emergency disaster relief and FEMA claims the roads are too hazardous for them to travel on. So the states are left to their own devices.

The incompetent press was all over Prs. Bush if it took more than 5 minutes for him to show up at disaster scenes... but they are completely silent now. Truth is, we hated it when politicians would show up on disaster scenes. All they did was get in the way and attract more incompetent press. Prs. Obama should be briefed on the situation but stay away and let the emergency workers and local people do what they need to to get through it.
