Ever had your cell phone in for repairs?

About 2 months ago the speaker went out on my cell phone. I couldn't hear it ring. Which is a very important part of a phone, right? It took my cell company about 2 weeks to fix it. In that time I had a loaner phone. Well, this month is a year, and our warranty will be up. So from this point on, repair comes out of pocket. Nothing has gone wrong since the repair, knock wood. But if it did, would you opt for taking it back in and paying out of pocket for the repair, or get a new phone? I would have to go with whichever option ended up the cheapest.

I would be getting a new phone if the same phone were to break again. It would just be asking for trouble to get the phone repaired a second time. If it breaks a second time then chances are it will break a third.

It's different for each type of phone. Your local rep should be able to tell you.

Hey, No I have never had my cell phone in repairs, it never needed a repair either. This is because I hardly ever actually use my phone, I mainly just keep it inside and I play games/listen to music on my phone, that is all I do. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

I guess I never had it with my "usual" cellphone but I had my O2 PDA phone repaired. It is due to some software corruption, hence it cannot load the start up program. After reading to some forums, I found out that many PDA have a similar problem probably because the installed software is too much for the memmory. I hope in the future my PDA will be fine.

Well, I would say I'm happy to have never needed to send my cell phone in for repairs. Once, I believe I had to take the cell phone to a store, but I never had to leave it there or mail it off. Another time, I might have re-upped my contract to get a new phone a bit earlier. They do sell some sort of repair or warranty for cell phones, but I try to be gentle enough with mine that I don't have to buy it.

What kind of phone do you have? I have a krazor and mine has been crap since I got it. I have had to have it replaced 2 or 3 times now and it's barely over a year old. Now my speaker is also going out. It doesn't ring when it is charging anymore and about half the time you can't hear it ring when it's not off the charger. I am due for a free upgrade in like, September so I'm trying to hold off until then but it's hard to do when the phone is just crappy. I will definitly do some more research before I purchase the next one. For this one I just went with the most expensive one that I could get with the free upgrade. I was shocked when the phone ended up being so bad cause it retailed for like 300 dollars at the time. What a joke. If I had actually paid that much money for it I would have been irate. It was frustrating enough the way it was. I guess I will use my head a little more from now on. And I don't know about you, but with my two girls I need something "durable" and the krazor is just a weiner in disguise! It goes haywire if you even look at it crossways! It definitly can't hold up under the pressure of being an overstressed mom of a terroristic two year old who mistakes cell phones for baseballs!
