As of today retroactive to Feb 1, 2009 I am now the proud co-owner of the business i work for. My "old" boss sold my co-worker and i the business to be paid out over time. I'm excited and nervous and yeah my stomach is doing turns. Do you own your own business?

Ebay can be pretty lucrative I'm told. My boyfriend's mom does about $10000 a year atleast in ebay sales to supplement her retirement and keep busy.

Congratulations! Well I understand how you feel right now. It means you are on your own now and have to make things end as the owner of that business you have to make the money you need to keep the business going. Well I think for as long as you love what you are doing and knows how each bolt and nuts work in that business of yours then you are good to go in your business. Being a boss in the middle of a recession would be a big challenge for you to manage that business but I guess sometimes this is the best time to setup a business because new markets to open and opportunities is wide and open to many.

i think it will be a challenge - dates are changing I'm currently managing the business however I decided not to sign papers until i can find out more about loans and grants geared for female business owners as my partner for buying it decided to back out.

Congratulations! I know it can be scary, but you have the advantage of already having the business established and being experienced. I have never owned my own business. I would like to, but I have never been in a position where I felt comfortable with the risk. Perhaps down the line when I have more in savings and am feeling a little more brave. Good luck!

I'm not sure how brave i'm feeling. Its a scary feeling suddenly being one of the ones in charge.

Thank you Sadly - the lady that was to be my partner changed her mind so I'm looking into grants and loans for female entrepreneurs now before i sign the papers. Its still tentative and I'm managing the business currently
