I cant remember anything that I have eaten that I would call unusual. I am not that adventerous. I mainly stick to what I know, prepared in various ways. I have heard of persons eating spiders, lizards, frogs, cockroaches... oeweeeee I am really not that adventurous. Have you ever tried foods that are unusual to you? What was it? Did you enjoy it and would you have it again?

I draw the line at bugs, but I am an adventerous eater. I've tried all manner of sushi, conch, rocky mountain oysters (aka fried bull balls), frog legs, turtle stew (which for some reason in the south is called kooter stew), squirril, octopus, rattle snake, alligator, buffalo, and emu. I think it's an adventure and you never know what you'll like til you try it.

LOL, thanks, I think. My parents always tried to make trying new foods fun. My dad is famous for saying that you never know what you'll like until you taste it. We weren't allowed to say we didn't like something unless we had actually tried it. I have no idea what I'll try next, but I'm sure it will be interesting to say the least.

Hi Tjades, I remembered eating frogs and they taste like chicken! You should try. My daughters and I also tried eating "bayawak", it is something like an iguana or chameleon. It was cooked with spices, and coconut oil and it tasted so delicious!!!

That seems to be the general taste as everyone I've ever heard speak of taste of frog compares it to chicken. You should try.. Oh come on marga... Dont give me a heart attack on here on mylot. Chicken, fish and mutton(occassioally) just about constitutes the meats I eat freely. I think I'll stick to that. Thanks for the nudge though but I'll pass .

It's worth the try! Besides, it is nice to get out from your comfort zone from time to time, right?

I also have a co-worker who is vegetarian and says she stays away from meat as it cause her to vomit whenever she has it. I am happy that your friend showed remorse for his actions and not make things worst by making fun of you. I know some friends can take a joke too far. Thanks for sharing.

I think the most unusual food I have eaten is frog when I was in grade school. My great grandfather cooks frog with soy sauce and it tastes good. That is his version of the Filipino dish "adobo." Now that I am turning 23 I think the most unusual food I have eaten so far are sea urchin and jellyfish introduced by my husband. I don't really like the sea urchin but I like jellyfish packed in China.

Oh thank goodness. This is not so bad at all. I have had some shockers from earlier posts. Not that I would have that soup (fish eyeball) but I love fish soup.
