http://www.kroger.com/services/Pages/recall_information.aspx Kroger's announced their list of recalled products...most of which are more peanut butter related items. They are even recalling their jar peanut butter, which up to now, was considered safe. Kroger owns various store under different store names. This link tells the products recalled & which stores are affected. I think these companies should start paying the doctor & hospital bills being created by their faulty products!!! Are you getting any more careful about what you buy or is it shopping as usual for you??? Any suggestions on how to get around this scare??? It's obvious we can't trust the government to protect us!!!

I don't know how to be more careful, I always wash fresh things, i only use pspular brands and I don't buy prepared items that combine foods.

Sounds like a pretty good plan to me!!! Only problem with going with the popular brands is that they have been affected too. Keebler, Austin & Little Debbie are 3 fairly popular products here in Georgia. There's times I feel like I'm playing Russian Roulette when I go to the grocery store...even when buying dog food & dog treats!!!

I buy peanut butter in the jar from Kroger here in Michigan and I have hunted and hunted on that link to see which kinds you are talking about. I'm sorry, but I must be missing it? Can you tell me where you saw that and which types are affected?

I found it on my local news station website. When I went back to get the exact link, the story has been pulled & replaced with a different story that doesn't mention the jar peanut butter. This bothers me more than the government letting it get through for over 2 years!!! They are hiding the facts!!!

We don't have Kroger here so I didn't pay close attention. I was just shocked it said jar peanut butter because up until now the jarred was supposed to be safe. I think it said their brand. It wasn't a major name brand.

I was wondering when Kroger was going to take things off their shelves. We shop at a Kroger store that is just a short walking distance away from our apartment building sometimes. Thankfully, we actually haven't bought anything peanut butter related from them, at least I don't think we have but it's still scary to think we've been buying from a place where a lot of their products have affected our part of the state! It's pretty much shopping as usual for us. We're just staying clear of anything peanut butter related. We never bought much of anything before hand, but now we're just making sure that we're avoiding it for the simple fact we don't know what is in any of what we are buying.

From what they were saying last night, they were having products tested to see what was contaminated. I now worry about what else has been contaminated that we don't know about!!! We have become so specialized in what we do. When something goes wrong, it affects everybody as there is only one company that produces the product. So named brand products mean NOTHING anymore. They are using the same base product as the off brands are using.

I think Obama better get crak'n on getting whomever is in change of inpecting food processing plants on the ball here. This is rediculous, I won't buy foods made in China & I have to worry bout things made here too. My kids eat lots of PB&J's and since we dont' live in somewhere like California where fresh produce ect is available all yr we have to take our chances here with processed....& it sux!

I'm ashamed to say in this case it was the Georgia Department of Agriculture that let the PCA slide for over 2 years. Now they want to blame it on the company. They had the authority to shut them down for non-compliance but didn't. My line of thinking is that somebody was being paid off & should be charged with murder!!!

Hi LadyM, this getting ridiculous, we don't have Kroger products in the UK but what else is going to be taken off the shelves? Being honest though with my shopping I haven't really thought about what I have been buying but think in future I will do know...littleowl

I have to give Kroger some credit here. Most of their affected products are a direct result of the PCA contamination. Instead of selling the contaminated product & taking their profit, they are actually pulling the affected products & doing their best not to make anyone sick. And they are doing it on their own!!!

Hi LadyMarissa, I think its disgusting that people have to watch what they buy and what they eat, at least nothing has happened yet here in the UK and I haven't eaten peanut butter for a long time but I love them though. Tamara

I used to eat a lot of peanut butter up until a few years back when we had the first scare. I decided then that I don't love it that much!!! My weakness is the toasted peanut butter cookies. Breaks my heart that those are affected by this. I have those for snacks when I know it will be a long time between meals. You snowed in over there tamara???
