I was wondering how many people actually sweep their floor first with a broom before carrying on the mopping process.
I have always found it easier to sweep up any kind of debris before mopping.

Yup! I gotta sweep up too.....I find there is too much to handle with a mop...and it ends up that I have to sweep up the extra little tibits that are laying around. I don't usually have a very messy floor though....but after the granddaughter leaves and we have baked cookies or something....then I truly do have to sweep!

Thank you for your response. It is true that there can be a lot of extra tidbits left on the floor especially after children are there! @winterose (39887)

I never heard of anyone mopping a floor without sweeping it first, there is dust on the floor that you are just switching around with a mop or forcing it into the hardwood or whatever else you have as flooring if you don/t.

hello bamakelly
of course that it is easier to sweep up the floor with a broom first to get any kind of dirt up off of the floor before that you go to mop it. if one didn't sweep up the dirt off of the floor first, then how would it be possible to get the floor cleaned when you went to mop it? lol you know? we have an inside female dog and she sheds lots so about all the i have to sweep up before that i mop the floors around here is dog hairs.
take care and have a beautiful evening.
