Do You Think Mylot Should Have An Edit Button or Feature??

i do think an edit button would be very useful since i make many typing mistakes Every time i make one i have to add another coment to my response and correct what i typed wrong

It really would be nice. It would also be nice if there was a way to do away with old discussions.

Oh yeah, I wouldn't mind an edit button if possible. If the admins are worried about people posting rubbish and then editing it later, they can always put a timeout period for the edit option. That means, if withing the next 30 minutes the response or discussion posted is not edited, the edit option will be removed and the author of that post will nto be able to make any changes to it no more. This is particularly useful in times when we realized that we made a mistake in our responses or discussion. And at times like these, we do not have that option to correct our mistakes, even though we do not mean to make them. I sure hope the admins will consider providing an edit options for our posts. Then we could at least make mylot a better place with fewer discussions or responses mistakes in them.

Hello rberon1985!I do agree with you. Mistakes and errors cannot be avoided when we post discussions and responses. Well, yeah, we could minimize committing errors to some extent by reading our output before hitting on the post response button. However, we are just but humans and we really commit errors from time to time. Having an edit button can help us minimize errors. I believe that is fair enough.

yes i agree that there should at least be an edit button and a delete. although with regards to spelling, i notice a red line underneath the word whenever i spell it erroneously so i am able to correct it before hitting the post button, but some grammatical errors that i only become aware of once i have already posted can not be corrected. another thing is the delete because we only get to know that same topic as the one we posted already exists once we have submitted a tag and we can no longer delete it.

hi rberon...yeah i agree with you on that..the admin must add a feature on that..i guess its the only one lacking here on this site and edit button...but i was typing this respond when i read the preview response below which of course similar to that edit button or maybe before hitting the post response we must preview it first..and re read again what we have type to avoid errors or anything...

Hi rberon, Of course it is important for us to post with out grammar and spelling mistakes. I have Firefox as well as Internet Explorer.When I use the Firefox.I won't make any spelling mistakes in my postings as there is a feature to correct spelling mistakes. When I use Internet Explorer there is all the possibility for spelling mistakes. Though the "preview response"tab can be used to read once before posting, to correct mistakes,it consumes more time.So when I am in hurry to complete certain number of postings,I straight away use the post response tab. If I find any major mistake,I will rectify it by using the comments button. As you suggest,an edit button in the posted response page,will solve this problem of correcting mistakes. Happy Mylotting

Hi rberon1985! I would really love to have that edit button feature and correct the mistakes that we finally saw after posting. I do think that most of us have committed some mistakes one way or the other and that feature will really be a very welcoming addition to the site. I am not sure though if the admin will approve of it since we already have a preview button before posting. I just wish that they will consider adding that edit button even after posting. Yes i think mylot should have an edit button feature.If there are mistakes in the post we can rectify it.Sometimes because of connection problems we post double in a post.We can delete the post if we have the edit function.I don't think the admin will allow the edit button now.

I agree!!!! I think there should be an edit button. There have been a few times were I have hit the post response even after I skimmed over what I wrote and then read it again after it is posted and realized that a word was left out or misspelled. When I read others posts , you can usually tell that they probably didn't even realize their error. No big deal really...but an edit button would be nice.

Yes. I type so fast that I often miss a letter. Then my post doesn't make sense.

I think mylot should have an edit feature. There have been many of time when I've forgotten to put something in a discussion, and couldn't change it.

I would love to have an edit function here on Mylot. Sometimes, after I post, I think of a much better way to express my meaning in words. Yes, I truly believe that an edit feature on Mylot would be excellent, for the reasons you discussed and the reason I mentioned. Have a very good day.

No, I don't think this is a good idea. Instead of saying what you want some people will be more worried about being corrected. As for wrong spelling my PC has spell check and I am sure if you go on MyLot often then you probably have some of the same. AS for adding comments I just go to add comment and put it there. You can check your comments when you preview your response.

Yea, sometimes i do wish that. I usually check it but some times a type o will somehow get posted. Then i feel like an idiot.

To be honest with you I don't think that the administration is going to go for something like this. They are also on a budget and every little thing that they add is going to affect their bottom line. It's not that the idea isn't good it is that most people don't proof read what they have typed. And ideas always cost money. Crocket.
