I love these fish. I had about ten of them at one time. They each had there separate little tank. They come in so many different colors. I loved to watch them so pretty. When we moved we had to give them away. I have been thinking of getting another one and putting it right on my desk. Also if you buy a Beta fish don't keep them in a bowl without filtration. Get them a larger tank so they arnt cramped and make sure you clean there tank regularly.

Beta's are pretty. I had one once. It lived for two years. Its the longest a fish has ever lived as one of my pets. I have decided having fish as pets is not for me anymore.

At the beginning I have no idea what beta fish is. The name is quite interesting. I searched the internet and now I know what it is now. It seems that this fish can't be raised more in the same aquarium as they will fight each other badly.
I love China

Beta or fighter fishes used to be my favourites before i shifted to cichlids. Males when confronted with others will exhibit all their colors and show themselves in such grandeur that you just cannot stop loving them . But i never had success breeding betas.

I have to jump in on this one. Guys, it is actually betta, thats bet-tah not bay-tah. And yes, these are some truly beautiful fish. Sadly though, a lot of these fish end up in small, cold, filthy enclosures. They should be kept in at least 2 gallons of water, perferably more. A temperature of about 80 degrees will show you a really gorgeous fish! Diet helps too, no flakes for these guys, at least not all the time, frozen foods are best. They also make a wonderful addition to community tanks, their ferocity is a little over-rated. In the past, I have bred and raised these wonderful fish, and if they are well taken care of you could have a truly wonderful fish for about 5 years. If you are interested in providing the best possible care for a betta, I recommend checking out www.ibcbettas.org, you will also find photos of some of the most beautiful fish in the world!
