A long haired Chihuahua called Charlie Brown died after receiving a legally mandated chip implant. (L.A. County requires all dogs at four months of age to be chipped.) The injection would not stop bleeding despite attempts to rescue the animal.

While most implants go in animals with out a hitch, side effects and deaths are not uncommon. Cancer at the injection sight is a known problem, as is the wandering of the chip itself into places like the spine or brain stem.

Maybe that will teach people, that noone should be chipped, it is just unethical in my opnion. I mean, it is bad enough they do it to dogs, I have heard from multiple people, they may start doing it to people!

Charlie Brown's people are fit to be tied. They were forced to chip Charlie by law even though they didn't want to.

Some people are in fact chipped! There are fancy clubs that offer chipping to patrons who don't want to carry their credit cards on their persons.

We should all sue the government for cruel and unusual punishment to humans and animals alike!

These people may, but they are speaking out and that is giving the government a pie-in-face.

Thats so sad. A dog dying because of such risk with the county requirements. I love chihuahua's more than any dogs so this is just sad.
