Oh, I see, so what's good for the goose isn't good for the gander?

Saw Obama's putting caps on ceo's salaries. Too bad that doesn't apply to democrats in Washington. They're boozing it up and eating steak on our dime, and having 'retreats' which everybody knows are nothing but conference spa treatments. None of this makes any sense to me.

Let's call for VOLUNTEERS to serve in our government - they don't get paid ANYTHING!

That is a good idea. Then they are actually there to be public servants and not to get all the perks.
But then you would still only have the rich in office (like we do now). They would be the only ones could afford to volunteer full terms to office.

Yep a Bill was introduced to stop congress from getting a pay raise this year...Guess what...the larger majority of them did not support it so they are getting their pay raise. Most American's are loosing their jobs or are not getting pay raises this year...but congress made sure they got theirs.
To be fair sense that has happened it has been introduced again. It is HR156. If you want to help this out....contact your congress person and let them know you full exspect him or her to vote in favor of this bill and tighten their belts just like the rest of us. Don't hold your breath though. They are really big on do as I say, not do as I do.

He's capping the salaries of the CEOs that we bailed out. That doesn't make it right, though, it's a bid for a boost in his approval ratings that have fallen lately. Salary capping by the government sounds like...what? 1940's Germany? Russia? It's socialist and I think he's showing his true colors.
He's an attorney, he knows what he's doing. I was hoping to support him and really wanted him to succeed but any socialist actions like this will start us on a downward spiral that we may never recover from. The only thing that will save us now is to inundate our representatives with mail and emails and phone calls. I've done this--have you? If not, please do. We can only fight this with numbers, short of armed revolution. I really believe that.

Fortunata, Obama did cap his administrations wages as one of his first moves as president. He can't force congress to do the same (but they should), but he should come out and tell them that they need to stop this. This isn't anything new, it has been going on since our government was created, but it needs to stop, and Obama has the balls to do it (lord knows Bush wouldn't do). I think that his move to cap the salaries of CEO's is 100% correct, and if they don't like it then they can give the money back and their company can go under. It is that simple.
