I made my new curtains at home and it took me a week to finish it! I wanted to cut labor cost that I decided to sew it on my own. I have previously made simple curtains but not as complicated as this one. But the effort was worth it. I am glad to have made extra effort to do it and I feel satisfied with it. I will be making better curtains next time.

Hello! You're absolutely right. Sometimes we buy expensive things thinking that it would last but to our surprise it's not. On the other hand, there are cheaper things which last longer than the expensive ones.

That's great. By doing cloth works, we regain the feeling of accomplishment when we were young.
I remember in my early days, I knit underwears for my family members. I also made embroideries on pillows before marriage. When we can manage, it is good to pick back some of the traditional lady works. And it helps to save money for the family.

Good for you. You can save so much money by sewing your own household items. And sewing your own clothes. You can have what you want at a fraction of the cost of retail stores. Plus having the satisfaction of making them yourself. Practice does make a difference, and there are new gadgets and surplies coming out all the time.

I got some fulfillment when I saw the finished product. It is more fulfilling, motivating and flattering when somebody admires your work. I am also glad to have saved a lot from labor costs. Thanks for responding.

thanks. It was really a big savings on my part. When I asked how much is the labor of sewing curtains from a local curtain maker, I was surprised that it costs a lot! the labor cost is more expensive than the price of the cloth itself.

That's great! I agree with the other posters; when you make things at home you can be sure they are good quality. Too many things, even high priced things are poor quality any more. I bought two sets of curtains once that were supposed to be the same size, but one set was a full three inches shorter than the other.
