Are rich people stupid?

Why aren't these banks smart enough to act like they don't have any money? Recently Wells Fargo canceled a lavish retreat, in Las Vegas, they planned for their top performers. They canceled it because of the publicity they started getting, about them spending money for something that was not necessary. They tried to justify it by saying that their top performers deserve it. Well, a lot of us deserve a lot, but we know we just can't have some of the things we are use to, at this time.
Citi bank had a couple jets that they ordered (I think last year) that they planned to continue receiving. They justified it, because they would have to pay a fee to cancel. Of course, the cancel fee was no where near the cost of the jets. In the end they said they would cancel. Oh, how deprived they will be without those jets.
And of course those car companies each flew on their private jets to beg for money. Common sense would tell you that private jet and beg for money don't even belong in the same sentence.
Why aren't they smart enough to realize they shoud at the least act like they don't have any money. Wells Fargo said they were not going to use the money the govenment gave, for the trip. Then why did they take government money if they had money of their own. They didn't have enough to keep up their lush lifestyle, guess!
What do you guys think about all of this?

No, the people your are talking about are not stupid. They are just greedy and selfish. Their acts debased the word "begging" to it's lowest form (and in the highest level?).
I wonder how much is the government spending to bail-out the debts of ordinary citizens?

You know, they would be better off stupid. It would at least give them an excuse Ha, ha :o).
It just boggles me how the people who are not hurting from all of this are the ones being handed money. Wait I am sorry, they are hurting, they don't get their all exspense paid trips or jets :o).
I am in real estate and I can tell you that all that money given is not being used to give people loans, like it is suppose to. So many people are still having trouble getting loans and many of the banks aren't even taking great short sale offers, instead opting to foreclose.
Who's idea was it to give to the rich?! :o)

Its all about greed and selfishness, my friend. The bigwigs want to have a good time and retain it too even when the chips are down, even if the common man is suffering because of their excesses. This attitude is not just in your country but in each and every nation all over the world.Of course they don`t care what happens to the likes of you and me, all they want is to have the cake and eat it too. These people are too thickskinned to care about you or what you are going through.
