Dear Friends, It really pains seeing people dying all over the world in the name of wars... Whatever the country is, whoever the people is and their religion, caste and creed is, everyone has same kind of bloods and nerves... It really drills down into the heart to see pictures of people crying and even small babies are not spared anywhere.... The current situation at Srilanka is really painful.... What sin did people do to be killed by the govt itself? What is going on in this world? But friends, I really don't understand one thing.... I'm not political and have a knowledge close to nil in such matters... To my understanding, Tamil Tigers are asking for a separate country in Srilanka... As an Indian, I never liked some one asking a portion of my country.... So, as Srilankans.... But is there any other reasons behind this wars, apart from this? Please clarify. Whatever the reason is, hell to see whatever is going around this world.... May GOD give peace to everyone or take all together, instead of destroying piece by piece.... My mom who is nearly 50 years old used to tell that this issue is going on from those days, when she was too young to understand.... No idea, when this will end... GOD hear our prayers and wipe our tears :(

Wars and conflict are part of life and sometimes they seem so unnecessary but maybe there is something rooted deep under that needs to be resolved. Cheers!!!

Chalai, Sri Lanka - I watched BBC, CNN and Al Jazeera news everyday; today "The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam" (LTTE), also known as the Tamil Tigers, they bombed the Sri Lankan General Hospital in Chalai. The seizure of Chalai would disrupt LTTE supplies as the sea base was used to receive arms and fuel from other countries through a widespread smuggling network.

Red Cross medics have decided to flee with the 300 patients to a coastal area deeper inside the war zone. Not only patients in calamity but to all general public residents in that area now going nowhere as the surrounding area seems like in very tight-trapped.

Make things worsen, the Sri Lankan prime minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake has rejected a call by international donors for it to begin negotiating with the LTTE. So, what helps able to reach those disasters areas when a prime minister does not allow any helper parties rendering security support except for red-crescent society.

OK ~ back to historical fact, since Sri Lanka became independent in 1948, the Sinhalese majority has dominated the country. The remainder of Sri Lanka's population includes ethnic Muslims, as well as Tamil and Sinhalese Christians. LTTE more aggressive by late 1970's in order to create a separate Tamil state in the north and east of the country.

Sri Lankan troops have been engaged in an all-out offensive in recent months against the LTTE, which has been fighting since 1983 to carve out a separate homeland for ethnic Tamils in the country's north and east.

Like the LTTE, the Sri Lankan government has been accused of engaging in extrajudicial killings, abductions, extortion, conscription, and the use of child soldiers. In August 2007, Human Rights Watch released a report that catalogues the various human rights abuses conducted in Sri Lanka by both the LTTE and the Sri Lankan military.

At the mean time, government's objective is to capture or kill Vellupillai Prabhakaran, the LTTE chief, is now crucial to a government victory. What else can potential helper as outsiders can do to give helps? Helpers are not allowed and unwelcome.

Just like, a tiger and an elephant fighting each other at last a deer killed in the middle of their fighting. What is a deer in this case? Sri Lankan people.
