Why do people do such things?

Hi every body! Saw a shocking TV program this morning, about people who voluntarily took on a foster child and then ill-treated him, kept him locked up and drugged a lot of the time. Are people mad? Why do they undertake such things and then behave like that. I think they should be locked up themselves.

Unfortunately it does typically boil down to money, or worse. Hopefully the child recovers well and goes on to find a good loviing family. Too many places have their resources stretched beyond limits to find homes and get the childrern in them. Which means they are unable to do proper followup and everything quicklly enough to avoid this kind of things. It is really too bad that more good caring people are not signed up as foster parents. I would, but my own three are our limit to handle financially and I could not emotionally handle dealing with alot of these children that have been so hurt in such short little lives.

Sadly, not everyone takes in foster children out of love of children. Many do it for the money. In addition, may foster care systems are actually outsourced. This is due to the huge strain on the social care system. As for this particular couple, kobussw01, I will refrain from expression exactly what I think should be done to them.

Its sickening. They should be banned for life from being within a certain distance of children. I read a story the other day in a magazine where a single man had been allowed to foster kids, mainly boys and he abused them all. This went on for years and people in the community thought he was great taking in kids on his own, little did they know what he was really up to.
