My new main character for my Story a Month February story is a seventeen year old who is in a wheelchair and is somewhat hesitant to go to college because she's afraid of having to run her own Personal Care Assistance program. Her mom has always done it up to this point. In the story, she gets visited by 3 ghosts. One is Ed Roberts, the founder of the first Independent Living Center (which is a service and referral center for disabled people) and also the first person who needed PCA care to go to college and live in a dorm. The second ghost is my friend Justin Dart, he was a leader of the Disability Rights Movement up until he died in 2002. The third ghost is Gail Linn, a person who I don't personally know in any way, unlike the other two, but I know from reading another disabled writer's memoir about her, was offered a scholarship fully paid room and board, tuition, and even PCA services in the 50's and didn't take it because she was afraid to leave home. Basically she comes back to say that she had an opportunity to make a difference and didn't take it and to encourage my main character not to make the same mistake.
But I have probably provided too much information. Basically I want to know a good name for my main character. Nothing odd. Just your standard name. I'm all set to start writing, except the main character has no name and I feel like I can't start a story without it. Can you help me?

This sounds like a wonderful story line and I hope that you do it. You should just pick a name and go with it for a while, see if it fits. Cheers!!!

It's a girl...hmm maybe you can go with something like Helen to give honor and tribute to Helen Keller, or even Kelly.
I also have a hard time trying to come up with different names for my characters, I don't want to use the same names over and over again know what I mean.
