I've made lots of different ones over the years. One of my favorites: I bought wooden stars and painted them red, green, or blue. Then I found pictures I liked that would fit on each star and glue them on. Next I painted a couple of coats of Mod Podge on each side. My husband drilled a small hole in the top for me to thread gold thread through for hanger and added a little glitter for sparkle. Then I made a cardstock card and glued background paper on it. I like to use scraps of Christmas wrap for this. I put metallic ribbons on the cards and then mounted the star ornament in the center with rubber cement so that it could be removed later and hung on the tree. They really turned out darling.

i really like this. it's 2-fold. a card to send and then an ornament to keep. i'm thinking i'll be using that one. plus, i keep cards from year to year and can use the fronts of them. i can purchase small envelopes to go with them. thanx so much...

i guess personalized card would be good for family cause it would be hard to make personalized cards for like 1 hundred people. pictures and symbols of significance could make some feel that they're loved over the holidays.
