You don't have a plan to buy anything, but will you still go to the department store to have a look? I won't go as I don't buy anything. Usually if I want to buy something, then I will go to the department store, and meanwhile I will see whether there will be something else I want to buy. I can't imagine that I go there but buy nothing. It wastes the time. I don't want to have a look only

this is waht you call window shopping and there is nothing unproductive about it. it is good that you do that because it will be your tool to know what is happening around you , a basis of sorts to know current trends, like prices and things.and besides , we are gifted by a gift of site so let us not waste it , look at somethings beautiful, it will make you feel good. it is just browsing through a magazine but the only difference is that you get to see and feel the real thing and even try it out yourself, first hand.

If I am already in the mall and I am just killing time, I usually go into the department store to look around. I check and see what there is to buy, or if there is anything that I might need to buy in the near future so that next time, I will know where to go if I need to buy something and at the same time, I am able to compare prices with the other stores I go to.

only when my pocket is full do I need to go for shopping spree with or without intention of buying. But if there is sales going on and prices are at rock bottom prices which are hard to resist then I'll buy otherwise it is just a window shopping just to get me out of the rut.

Oh, I used to do it all the time, youless, and really enjoyed it. I don't do it as much with a little one in tow. But I did it as long as I could while he was in a stroller. Now that he's walking he can out run me, lol.

oh yeah, most of the time I do it, when I'm not in a hurry :) and when my kids are with me... we do that :) but I do understand your sentiments, it's really great if you have to look for something and when you do like it, it would be best to buy it... :) but sometimes, too, it's nice to stroll around the mall with the kids, so I just savor the time with them.

I go to department stores all the time and just look, We call it window shopping. I guess because back in the day people would look at the stores' window displays. These days you can go to the mall and just look in the stores. Most of the time I would window shop one day and then go back and buy the item the next time.It is fun.

No. When it comes to window shopping it is movies, clothes, and office supplies ,like pens and paper that I usually gravitate to.

we are the same youless i dont like to look around specially when i dont have any cash at hand. i dont like to love something and can not buy it. i only go to the department store if a will but something or my children will buy something. specially now that we are on a tight budget i would rather stay home than be a the department store

yes it does. people buy food first than spending on clothes and somethings that are not important. if they buy something that would come from the grocery like soaps and things we need for the kitchen. maybe there are a lot of people inside the department store just to look around but there are not there to buy anything.

Sometimes if I need to just get out of the house, I do go and look at the shops at the mall or up the road. I usually just buy a coffee and muffin and wonder around. It's nice just to get out of the house after a while.

Yes, some times I do that. Just go to the store to look at what is on the shelves. Most of the time I would be at the store cos I need to get something. But there are many times I go there just to look. And the stuff I love to look at are toys. You can never buy enough of them. So looking would suffice. It is kind of relaxing to go to a store to browse for something. No need to rush or queue to get the item. Just look and browse.

Hi youless! No, I won't go. I think if I will just take a look knowing that I can't buy, I will just make myself sad. So better avoid it and will just go at the department store if I will be able to buy what I like. Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

Hi dear! Thanks but my goods will arrive on the third week of February as I was told by my friend. So, I will be starting the business as soon as I can do an inventory of all the goods that have arrived. I think it will go on well since I have already buyers who are asking for the goods already. lovelots..faith

Hello Youless....Yes I too will never go to the department store,if I have nothing to buy.But when I go there to do my shopping,I always look for itmes on my shopping list, and get the things I want quickly. Then if I have time left,I just go around and have a look at all the other things on display ,so that when I need to but these things I will know where to look, and also how much they cost.......

Oh honey, I always check out more than once with a future purchase or anything. It can be clothes, shoes, underwear (if I've fallen in love with it, I just go back and purchase more) and whatever there are. Even colognes, make up, etc. I guess I just want to make sure I'm making the right decision, strange as it seems. hahaha

I guess you could say that, though I like online shopping more. Coz there's no added energy plus there's no line to wait to buy your stuff. I hate that, I have just left my supposed purchases coz the line was too long or I was just annoyed with the wait. hahaha. Plus no one bothers you when you online shop. You get all the details and no one has touched your stuff. Unlike the ones in stores in which a bunch of people could've touched it. I don't like that.

Oh! I don't do that. I often ask my friends why there are people going to the department store just to take a look of the items. Some people say they feel bored at home so they go there. In my opinion, isn't it more boring to browse on items and not buying? Oh! Well, I feel like I am very poor when I do that(rolf).

Yes, I go to stores quite some times even if I have no plans to buy anything. Sometimes its because sometimes I just need some time off and if I have no choice to go anywhere, I just move to some store and check if they are updated with something new. Also, getting into mob makes me feel better as I see a lot of different emotions on faces of people, Some are happy, some curious, some tired, some caring, some showing emotions for others etc. But the interesting thin is that, even if I go to the store to buy nothing, I end up spending some money there

I am not surprised to hear that. It's really hard not to buy anything when you leave the department store

I never buy my clothes from a department store, choosing instead to get them from second hand shops or charity shops. I think department stores charge too much money for their goods so I refuse to line their pockets. I never go in them whether buying or not. I do like having a look for clothing ideas in those types of shops mentioned to get an idea about the kind of stock they have in at a given time. That way I have a good idea where to go when I am buying something.

i do it a lot of times,i am a wise buyer so i have to check first where i can buy the cheapest of the same brand and make and its quality before i eventually buy it.im not an impulsive buyer but i tend to examine it first before i buy it no matter how long it would take me to buy it as long as im satisfied thenits worth the wait...

I don't go to the department store unless I want to buy something but once in a while which is really once in a while, I would just go window shopping to see what's the latest stuff and design of things, or just to check out prices of certain stuff and compare prices.

I really don't mind going to the mall and not buying anything. In fact, I love window shopping :) I think there's nothing wrong with taking a look at some stuff that you want to buy and checking out their prices. At least, you're able to compare the prices from different stores and get the cheapest purchase. In the long run, you get to save money :) Well, it's a different story if you have a lot of things to do of course. I only do window shopping when I have the luxury of time. ;)
