Are you the fun friend?

It seems to me that, in every circle of friends, there is always this one person that everyone considers "the fun one"... this person usually has great suggestions for activities, places to go, to eat, to see... they seem to know a lot about a lot of different things, they're usually an interesting conversationalist... just generally a really enjoyable person to be around. So, are you the fun friend? What makes you the fun friend? Do you work at it or does it just come naturally to you? Here's your chance to toot your own horn about what makes you a great friend! If you don't consider yourself the fun friend, do you have one? Tell us about that person... maybe we'll learn some valuable lessons

Yes, I think I can call myself a Fun Friend. People love hanging out with me. I have got a good sense of humour and I can bring smiles on the faces. I end up playing pranks with many friends mimicing at times. Another thing is that I value the friends that I have and their friendship and do not take either for granted. Also, I am a good listener, and listen even to things that most of my friends find very hard to tolerate!

Awww how wonderful! :D Valuing your friends and not taking them for granted must keep you at the top of everyone's list! I've been told that I'm a good listener... and, you know, I really do take it as a compliment. I think it shows you care about someone when you make them the center of your attention.

I know exactly what you mean and sadly, I'm not the fun friend :) However, my friend Carly definitely is! She's always in a great mood, is fun to talk to, and has great ideas about things to do and places to go. Even when we're not doing anything, what could be boring is always fun when she's there. That's not to say that we don't have fun without her - I don't want to make us sound like a really boring group. I hadn't really thought about it much before, but you asking the question made me realize just how fun she is and what a difference she makes in our group of friends.

Hey that's great, actually... it's kind of nice to know that you realize just how much you value Carly as a friend I have to agree with you, too, that the best friends are the ones that you have a GREAT time with, even when you're doing nothing at all!

I don't think I'm really "the fun friend", but I can't think of anyone else that is either in my circle of friends. On one day, it might be one person that has an amazing idea and the next day it might be someone else. It really all depends for us. xD In my circle of friends though, I think I would be the person that isn't any type of leader. I think I'm the "fun" person that's not in the foreground - the one sort of behind the scenes that makes jokes on the side that, when heard, are appreciated. =P I'm not a fun sort of "leader" but I wouldn't say I'm not fun at all.

I think it would be great to have a circle of friends where the "fun friend" is interchangeable :D You must have some very happy times! I also don't think the fun friend is necessarily a leader either... they could possibly be really quiet and still be the one person that everybody loves to have around

I am not such a person, but my niece is very much welcome in all communities. She had a very strict primary school teacher and a mother alike. She learned to live in a light mood all through the teenages, and thanks for her cousins, she is good at digital appliances, including computer, photography, digital games, dvd, hf, etc. She has a large group of friends online, some moved overseas. She is always the initiator and facilitater of activities. I was on her car in a fleet car trip out of the city. She was driving the car, meanwhile using earphone to respond and give guidance to co-drivers. Now she is promoted to a post similar to pr. She is also good at leveraging resources to get informed, to initiate ideas and to execute plans. Another tribute is since her early childhood, she has had opportunities to be exposed to various environment. What she sees and experiences must have a positive effect for her personal development.

Your niece sounds like she is a very well-rounded person! How wonderful for her... and for those that are privileged to know her. She must be very interesting to spend time with!

I can't call myself the fun one, just because I'm really not that outgoing. I do tend to be the organizer though. I call people and see what works for everybody. I think though once we're in the actual event I become the comic. I have a dry sense of humor with a touch of sarcasm, so I listen very carefully and when I get an opportunity, I always seem to have a quick comment or clever response. I can usually keep the table laughing when I'm on a roll.

LOL! I love people like you, uicbear! I have a pretty sarcastic and off-beat sense of humor myself and it's so much fun to find people that "get it"! I think being a good listener is probably a key part of your personality :) Are you familiar with a comedian named Steven Wright? He's SO dry but SO funny! LOL

I'm pretty fortunate when it comes to this. My group of friends that I have had since the seventh grade--we're all really "the fun friend". We each bring that special something to the table. I would say that I myself am the one that just tries to keep everyone happy and together. I may not always pick what we should do, but I'll usually be the one saying "Hey, let's meet here and then go somewhere".

That's awesome, really... it's nice that you all compliment each other like that. Probably means you have a lot of fun together too! Sounds like you're the "glue" amongst your friends - I bet that can be a bit difficult from time to time!

I can say I am fun but sometimes I remember way back in college we have a group of friends, we always have a comedian, very wacky personality. He was the sources of laughing out loud. He was the entertainer,I belong to the audience. When he was with us, it never a dull moment. He changed the environment whenever all of us were stressed. When we separated when we graduated, I adopted his technique in making other people laugh and I became a fun friend. I always have an extra joke and word for a day for my friends, which made them to be with me as always.
