Do you think that India can become number one team in the world?

Wait for the coming Sunday and India will be the number one side for sure.

Hello,Raj! Wait and see Team India is steadily moving towards the top position.Now they have moved to No 2 position and soon will occupy the No 1 position no doubt.But they have to do a lot in bowling department.Our bowlers are not consistent however.thanx.

This Indian team has the potential to become numero uno but they will have to be as consistent in their perfomance as the Aussies. Our team has the unfortunate habit of becoming complacent after certain victories and the media also has a part to play in it because they always hype the teams perfomances to a very high degree and put a lot of pressure on them. If you see the Aussies they have cricketeers in their team whoo are in good form currently and do not go by past perfomances like we do . Sachin is in the team because of his past record only not on his current form which is pretty dismal. Once in a while he scores good runs but his consistency has gone down considerably. The same for Dravid. It is neccessary for our selectors to choose a young team and keep playing them for years so that they become seasoned and consistent performers and when they have beaten all the teams not once but several times can India hope to be the top team in the world.Till then they should not be bothered about their ranking but just keep playing good cricket and winning consistently.

I think india will be able to win the series 5-0 and be the number one team on the ICC ranking. India is in great form, and no team is near it at the moment. Austalia right now is unpredictable. Cant say anything about them, and other good team is South africa. If india becomes better then these two teams i think it is going to be the best team for the next few years. and hopefully they win the next world cup

Certainly yes!India is doing well now with the young blood.No doubt,India will soon become the top most team in the World.The time is ours and the boys are doing good under the captaincy of Dhoni.There is a good understanding within the players unlike the past.So we are determined to raise to the top and nothing is going to stop us.

India will reach the no. 1 spot alright ,looking at the form and team aggression, But the main thing is how long will it retain ,its all about maintaing the no.1 ranking for a long time ,its no use if for a week they remain no.1 and then go back down in the ranking . Dhoni has said it rightly that its looking at long term results ,but at the same time enjoying short term success,and i am definitely sure he will be able to sustain the no.1 ranking for a long term.,due to the fact that he makes revolutionary decisions in team management ,,, so looking forward for a new make over in the Indian cricket in The WOrld NO.1 ...and also the World Cup Champs..... It will take some more time for India to grab #1 Position. Anyway, presently they are going at a great pace.

It has the ability and determination....but,South Africa is no way less. Only one thing is for sure,Aussies can't regain the top spot !

definitely. Ours is a very confident team under dhoni. Its just that there is no direct india vs southafrica confrontation in the coming months.

Both India and South Africa have been playing phenomenal cricket recently.However, South Africa have beaten up Australia in Australia really badly and India has not been able to do that quite as yet. Thus, I think we will take some time to reach the top. But, we're definitely heading in the right direction :)
