Has Anyone Had the Flu Yet This Year?

It's that time of year when the flu bug bites a lot of people. Every day I feel like I'm just waiting for it to arrive at our house. So far so good. Maybe we can escape it this year. Have you or your loved ones had the flu yet this year?

I've been lucky so far - no one in our household has had the flu yet this year. We've been experiencing a lot of colds, though. I have a cold now, the first one since August of last year (I have no idea how I've managed to go so long without catching all the colds that have been in this house - I'm guessing it's because I use Airborne, but I'm not sure). I hope we can keep the flu out because that's just miserable!

Maybe the Airborne is working for you. How long have you been using it?

Yep, my family and I all did the two-week Airborne routine as outlined on the package and it worked great for me. However, it didn't seem to stick with everyone else as well. I suspect it's because they didn't take it as directed. That's just a guess, though. LOL Each time I experience cold symptoms, I take more Airborne and it seems to reduce them or take them right away. Like now, I don't have any cold symptoms aside from fatigue. Typically, I would experience cold symptoms for a couple of weeks. So, I guess it's working! :0)

Oh how I dread flu season too! :\ *knock on wood* it hasn't really hit us yet... both of the girls have been sick but not enough to miss school. One of them is off today and I just heard her blowing her nose and sneezing. She came and asked me if she could take some Buckley's and, at the same time said, "I never should have gone to an elementary school!" LOL!! The other day, the high school band went to a local elementary school to teach the younger kids about their instruments and to play for them and such. I guess she managed to pick up a souvenir while she was there :( Hopefully, it doesn't amount to more than a cold again this time. I just want to run and hide when I know there's something in the house... I need to huddle up somewhere with a particle mask and a big ol' can of Lysol ROFL! Stay healthy!

That's the problem with school. All the kids are carrying around all those germs.

Hi Shar19. Yes I had it three weeks ago and I had to take a week off. It was really worse that I felt so dizzy everytime I tried to stand on my feet so most of the days I was just lying down, sneezing, blowing my nose and coughing. My boyfriend really took care of me, he bought me some food that I like since I ate almost nothing. Just last night my boyfriend had fever, and good thing his parents from the Philippines sent a package days ago containing medicines for flu and some antibiotics. I guess he's doing better today.

From what the news has said the flu hasn't hit our area as of yet. Hopefully we side step it this year. We have all battled colds but I think that has been from the extreme swing in the tenperatures. 60 degrees one week and -5 the next! We've all had the flu shot this year so we'll keep our fingers crossed and hope it works! Stay Well!

I do believe the crazy weather contributes to illnesses too.

I have not had the flu nor have I had a cold this year. I only had a sinus infection caused from allergies. I think the reason I haven't gotten sick is because I am not working on the outside. So staying home has kept the buggies away.

HI Shar, I got my flu attack last few days. So sick of it when I'm in the midst of work. The cough mixture was a real trouble. It gave me hard time sleeping eventhough I was drowsy. Oh God, feels like living in the pandora's box. Any chance we could escape flu? How and what are they?
