does oral contraceptive pills cause cystic ovary...because..i was using hem for a long time before we tried for are first baby...i was diagnosed with pcod, and then again one of my friends was also treated for cystic ovary and prior to that she was also using oral contraceptive pills

No, I don't believe birth control pills have anything to do with the development of cysts. I was on the Pill off and on for years and never had any problems but my friend, who was never on the Pill, has had problems with them for years.

yeah even i am not sure..but my friends who were also on oc pilss had the same problem and thats how i concluded that anyways ..thanks happy mylotting

Actually, it could be the other way around. I have problems with cysts, starting when I was a teenager. After a few cysts, the doctor finally put me on the pill to regulate my hormones and cut down on the cysts. I didn't have any problems until I stopped taking it. The problems started again and after a few years, I decided to go back on the pill. Haven't had any problems since then. Of course, don't take my word for it. You should talk to your doctor about it and see what they say.
