Need help with Blogger and Adsense

I have several blogs on BLogger and they are a few years old, but I went to make a new one and things sure have changed! How do you put your Adsense ads on a "gadget" now? Used to be, you had to copy hte HTML from Adsense to the "gadget" and all was done. Now, you add the Adsense "gadget" and just choose the style and color and it puts it on the template.... but how do I know that it is my account that is put on there? I did it the way they have it set, and today received an email saying I have to do something (forget what it said) to "allow" Blogger to pull from Adsense. What's that mean and how do I handle it? THanks for any advise
