If I were to say George Washington would you be surprised? If I asked you how many African American presidents there have been and told you the answer was all of them would you agree or disagree?

Well, if you defined "African American" as a person who's heritage could be traced back to Africa, then you'd be right. We all descended from sub-Saharan Africans. It all hinges on the definition of African American.

Only two responses and you have already caught me out. That is exactly what I was referring to. Kind of makes racial prejudice seem a bit sill doesn't it?

I am having a hard time understanding your response. An African American is a person who can trace their genetic decent back to Africa. You seem to imply that somehow this makes them non-American. If that is so than there are no Americans because the entire human species originated in Africa making us all of African decent. If you are an American you are an African American.
