How many people keep cat and dog home at the same time?

have you ever seen the movie 'cats and dogs'? do you really think the cat and dog cannot live harmoniously at the same family? do you once keep a cat and dog home at the same time? what happened? share your experience here and give advice to those worry about raising cats and dogs in a house. waiting for more...

we had cats and dogs at home when i was a kid and they can live harmoniously after the first stages of getting to know haha. of course at first the cat will raise its tails and hiss at the dogs but eventually they became friends and they even play together, i guess its just the way the owners make the pets feel that they are equal and have to live together peacefully. we scold the dogs if they mistreat the cat. but our dogs are very antagonistic towards other cats like our neighbors' cats. i think they should belong to the same owner to live peacefully.
