I have an eight year old labrador named Bob.He is fawn colour and is extremely handsome. He was with us ever since he was 28 days old. As a puppy he was extremely mischievious and he retains most of it even now.He is my walking companion and everyday morning we walk for two kilometers. He is such a friendly fellow that he does not need a leash but I put him on leash just for the peace of mind of fellow pedestrians. Last year he developed a small lump on his hind leg.It was growing even though the growth was slow.Hence we got it operated by the vet some three weeks ago and some six stitches had to be put. However we had to take him three more times for stitching again as the wound healed only partially and he has the habit of biting off the stitches. However even now. a part of the surgical wound is open and I put band aid on the spot and put a cover to his mouth most of the time. I wonder whether malignancy is the underlying cause of the slow progress of healing even though the vet feels it unlikely. In the initial week after surgeory he refused to eat anything. Now he eats bread and eggs but his appetite is still low.I hope he will be alright soon and we are giving him good attention and tratment. Have you had such a problem with your dog ? If so please share.
