which one I need? canon g10 or panasonic lx3?

i would like to buy a new digital camera, and i'v got two ideals: canon g10 and panasonic lx3. i am just an amateur, prefer to take scenery and night scene. i hav used panasonic for 2 yrs and got familiar with the system. btw, canon si well known, the quelity should be good ha.anyone got any of them can give me some recommendations? thanks.

I don't have either of those, but both companies have been in the camera business for a long time so you should be good with either one

haha, Cheers! i agree with you! i wanna the owners' options about the systems, the noise, the models. then make the final decision. they are not cheap ha ^ ^

Excellent cameras. However, if you are going to shoot night scenes, the Canon cannot match the Panasonic in the high ISO and noise departments. The Canon has a longer zoom 5x vs 2.8x) but the LX3 lens is twice as fast (f2 vs f2.8) and wider so it is far better in low light situations, and the pictures suffer far less from noise artefact's because of its much larger sensor.
