When is it time to throw in the towel on your debt? What are some qualifications, according to the new rules passed in 2005? Someone very close to me is planning on filing, and I need as much info as possible.

Shoot just stop paying on certain stuff like credit cards until you can. They can't throw you in jail. What do you have of value? There's not alot they can take.
