I guess my computer is. The reason behing this question is because my wife keeps saying that she is my second next after my computer. Just like now.. as I am typing, she's there in bed commenting on my spending the whole time on the quiet, immobile yet charming machine... what do you think?

It is computer. I can't even imagine the world without computer and internet. I used to spend more than 15 hrs a day with internet.Because of this I am not able to go outside, attend any function and I became the addict i think. I have thought of giving up this habit. Let me see, is it possible or not.

I have been right where you are in my past and it cost me. My first wife continued to complain all the time about my being on the computer and not giving her or the family enough attention. Well she found someone else who would after 37 years of marriage. That is not the complete story but for this purpose it is. Listen to you wife. What seems like simple complaining to you now will turn to bitterness. I know just where you are. The computer is a never ending learning and fun experience but when your alone you will find it a very sorry companion. Please listen to her and talk this through with her. My current wife's daughter's husband did this same thing to the point he almost completely ignored the family a good part of the time. She put up with it for awhile but then she lost the feeling she had for him and now is going to leave. He is going through hell now because he loves his family more than his own life. What seems to you like a simple complaint is far from that for her. For her it is as though you have another woman and you don't need her. She will take that for awhile and then her love for you will die and you will never, ever get it back. My advice to you is if you love her and do not want to loose her you better talk this out and not let it go one day longer. If your like me you are addicted to that computer and I can tell you it will not be easy to let it go. But trust me it will come down to either it or her and that is the wrong time for you to have to decide for it will be too late.
