Fading attraction

Is there an actor or actress that you saw in a movie, and you were immediatly attracted to the character they portrayed, but then you saw them again, either in another movie, or as themselves, and you weren't attracted to them any longer? I've noticed this happen to me a few times. For instance, when I first saw the Lord of the Rings movies, I was attracted to Legolas, played by Orlando Bloom. When I discovered Orlando was actually a brunette and not a blonde, the attraction faded, however it did come back once I saw him in some other movies, and now he is one of the most attractive actors in my opinion. Also, when I saw the movie X-Men, I thought Hugh Jackman was extremely attractive as Wolverine, but then I saw Kate and Leopold, and didn't think the clean shaven version of Hugh was nearly as attractive as the scruffy version. I still drool whenever I watch X-Men, or any other movie where Hugh looks a bit scruffy, but the ones where he's clean shaven, I'll pass.

This is completely normal for everyone i believe. Like when i saw the characters that played in Twilight they were ALL extremely attractive but if you see them out of the movie and the real people they are then they aren't attractive as the movie portrays them of course this is the job of the movies to make certainer characters appealing to us

So true! I also am not overly fond of seeing some of my favorite characters off screen, such as in pictures while they're in street clothes or things like that. But who cares, I get to see them on screen, and that's enough for me.

Hi there Kats, To be perfectly honest, that is something I never understood about celebrities or movie stars. I like movies and I enjoy watching them very much but they are part of the story, I enjoy the movie for the two hours that it on, and then I go about my business and I usually don't think about the actors or who played what character. In fact I am much more likely to think of the character as a real person than I am to think about the actor and be upset that the actor did not live up to my standards. I don't follow the tabloids, Entertainment weekly or People magazine. I don't understand the need to follow Britney Spears or O.J. Simpson around with camera or why I shound care that so and so was caught in grungy sweats or pajamas. So perhaps you can explain that to me, why do you become attracted to a character in a movie? Or attracted to an actor that plays a character in a movie? I'm just kidding and poking fun, because truly I never understood the attraction to celebrities or famous people. They're people just like you and I, they get up every morning and they go to bed every night and guess what they take a potty break every now and again too! So well that doesn't directly answer your question it's the closest I can come, because I just don't get the allure of celebrity status to begin with! That's just my 2¢ worth, until next time… Happy Mylotting!

I don't really care what they do in their personal life either, and I don't read those magazine or watch Entertainment Tonight or any of that either. But I do find some actors and characters attractive, and if I think they're attractive, I will look for more movies with them in it, and occasionally I'll search the internet to learn more about that person. Just how I am, to each his own.
