For the last few months, our Charlotte, NC PBS station has been playing the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, featuring Jeremy Brett in the lead. Last week was Holmes' death. This week was the next episode ... 3 years later, when Holmes returns to London and surprises his partner, Watson, who is now played by another actor. Who else is currently watching this on their PBS stations? Who, of all the actors known to play Sherlock Holmes, do you believe portrayed this character the best? For me, my answer would be Jeremy Brett. Jeremy suffered from serious health problems, both physical and mental, especially after the death of his wife while making this series. Yet, he portrayed Holmes with perfection. One day, I would love to own all four seasons/series of Sherlock Holmes as played by Jeremy Brett.
