The lastest news from the "economist", the number of peole going online has passed one billion for the first time. According to comScore, a online metrics company, Surprisely, not America, it's China that has the most web user with 180m, surpassing USA with 163m. 180m is only a little more than one in ten of the whole China's population. As to USA, 163m meas over harf of its population is web user. Obviously, it seems that web user in USA has reached its saturation point. And the data shows many other populous developing country such as Brazil and India and so on have more potential user, which I believe the web user of those country will eventually overtake the one in westen countries at near future. It also is another good example of telling us what the developing courtry is. Without a doubt, the unlimited develop potential is characteristic of those country. Finally guess how many web user all in all there is in the world nowadays?

Yeah,as to polulation, India is going to chatch up with China with population soon. There is a question bothering me a lot, as you knonw, China has been carrying out "family planning" measure to control the population against sharp increase. I don't think the governors in India don't reallize the harm of mass population, why are they still encouaging their people to be more productive at this aspect.

The problem is in China you have a single party rule and that party can impose whatever law it wants to for the benefit of the nation. In India we have this multi-party democracy and winning and election is not always easy. Each party tries to keep the people happy and as you know, family planning is a very sensitive issue and no party wants to project itself as anti-people. Many Indian families however are limiting themselves to one or two kids, max. education is a very useful tool here, people themselves understand how difficult it is to run a big family, specially among urban working class and the govt does not really need to force them.

yeah, i'm really not surprised about China having the greater number because China has the greater population size, but the usage has gotten so bad that they have limits to the amount of time people can spend online. I can't even begin to fathom how many users there are in the world

Thanks for responding. We've got the most web user, but the speed of Internet in the large part of China is embarrassing.

Due to their population, china is the country having more internet users. On other hand,if we see the rate of users to their population,USA is capturing the first place. The development of IT in India, will surely make it to second place in near future through its having less numbers of users. Talking about the rate of something, China would be lag behind far away at many aspect duo to the huge population burden. I have to admit the development of software in India is amazing.
