If you had to have the same name as a US state, which one would you choose and why?
I think I would choose Georgia.

Georgia isn't too bad but I think I would prefer Dakota. I think it sounds the nicest out of the states. I definitely would NOT want to be named something like Massachusetts or Oklahoma or Tennessee. I think those names would sound silly.

Well, now as I am not from the US what shall I do to respond your post? Well if this would have been the case with me I would go for 'Bharat' as my name for I am an Indian. I believe in the Sanskrit saying - "janani, janmabhumi swargadapi gariyashi" - connotes 'mother and motherland both are superior to heaven. The native name of India is 'Bharat'.

I'm not from the US either. The question was that if you had to choose a US state for a name, which would you choose?

well, I got it now. Yes if I was to choose one name from the states of the US I would blindly pick up the state of Colombia and would make it once again Columbus for the honor of the great soul who ventured into this unknown part of the globe and finally helped it become the world Superpower. Thanks for the rectification.
