I was wondering who has had a bad electric shock before. When I was a teenager I was in bed and my lamp fell on the floor and smashed. I picked the lamp up and the lamp suddenly stuck to my body and I had an electric shock. I was in bed so I wasn't earthed so I screamed for my Mum to get the lamp off me. She knocked it off me and the elecric shock stopped. I was in hospital for 3 weeks as I had to have a skin graph on my hand due to the burning. Now I won't even change a light bulb!

Hello Luckyangel!
So sorry to hear that you suffered such a bad shock. I hope it never repeats.
I have been lucky when it comes to electric shocks. I have been shocked many times but luckily, all of the times the current/voltage levels were really low and it did not cause any serious trouble for me.
I am doing my training in an electrical company now and I get one or two shocks daily, but it does not affect me much.
Take care and happy mylotting!

I think am lucky to be alive because if my Mum wasn't there or she couldn't hear I wouldn't be alive now! Things have changed now and they have trip switches so that can't happen but I still think about it when ever I turn on a lamp and I don't let my kids have lamps in their rooms:)

That was a really bad accident and I understand why you have a trauma in holding a bulb. God is still good that your mom got the lamp immediately before you got much injury. Its good that you still safe. I also experienced electric shock but its just a minor electric shock. I just got numbness finger for 5 minutes and after that everything is back to normal.
