Weather snowfall UK 2009

February 8, 2009 2:33pm CST
Hi from the UK well it has been a week of amazing snow fall London being stopped by the snow buses trains not working nobody wanting to or being able to get to work and lots of kids finding thier schools closed it seem that all over Britain snow has covered the land and caused a mix of exitment, anger and sadness for few unlucky ones. But here on Arran it has been very cold and no snow at all a drible of flakes fell on afternoon but nothing came of it. kids watched the weather an news reports and hoped may be it would come our way but no. how ever tonight it has snowed and cover the ground with 1-2 cm of snow but it night time and the kids have to look out at it by morning it will most likley have been washed away by rain while the south of england has an other winter storm on the way . I love the snow I like being trapped in the house not having to any whare as long as I have basic supplys in the house to bake with and cook its great and the shop is a short walk away if I have to out. How do you like the snow does it really affect whare you live I feel like the media here has been very negative about the snow fall and made people think it was a bad thing. There are times whne the roads and some bridgers have been to dangerous to use. well I wait for morning and hope we have some snow for the kids to ply in they have a holiday from school for a week and it would be great fro them to get some snow play.

I'm in Italy but I'm English and I keep an eye on the weather in your part of the world because my mother who is 90 would have problems if there is a lot of snow. She lives in Easy Anglia and fromwhat I see and hear has not had as much as some parts further south. Here in North Italy we have had a lot of snow since just before Christmas whcih has finally disappeared thanks to the rain in the last two days. I hate it when it snows. I don't like either driving my car or walking in it. I have to get lifts to and from work when it snows. We are pretty organises in the towns as far as clearing the roads is concerned but there is usually trouble on the motorways when it first starts snowing. We drive with chains as soon as it starts tosettle and special snow tyres are obligatory in certain parts from 1st December onwards whether snow is forecast or not. When I was younger I loved playing in it too but now what with having to reach work and run errands I much prefer it when it's been and gone though it is a beautiful sight to see on the tops of the mountsins.
