i dont know what got into me, i suddenly became really interested in photography. i have been reading articles and tips on photography for beginners and i find my interest growing. with that, i am feeling the need to transition from my digital camera to a dSLR camera. any tips on what brand and model should i get?( of course, budget is of consideration too. i would also appreciate all other tips you can give. thanks!

Welcome to the world of photography !! Since you are new to DSLR, I suggest you to buy an outdated model, I use Canon, and the model is EOS 350D (the model number may vary from different country) it is a 8Megapixel DSLR, the price is about half of the latest model (the one with about 12Megapixel, something like that), strongly suggest you buy a new one, no second hand items please. The camera may come with a kit lens, a 18-55mm lens is enought for a new comer, and the quality of the lens is quite good. Enjoy taking the photo ^^

I like to take pictures but I am not very good at it. I mean I don't have top of the line equipment or anything. I try to take pictures of wherever we go and the people we meet. I generally take pictures of the family. Digital sure makes it easier though to store and print the photos.
