well, i'm majoring in musical performance right now... so i might be a lil biased. but the cello is a wonderful instrument. some people like to say it's the best vibrations between your legs lol i'm going to go through the string section real quick... violins - they're annoying, loud, and they get all the good parts... wtf man!?!?!??!violas - a very confused instrument... kinda like a mini cello and as such, it can never be as good as a real cello now can it?cellos - cellos have the largest tonal range of all stringed instruments. those 4 octaves give cellists the freedom to play down low, and then still be able to play in the higher ranges as well. it's a very versatile instrument. basses - basses are the foundation of an orchestra, they keep everyone in tune and on time; that said, basses, like the viola, are acoustically imperfect, and not as cool the cello=\

I love the sound of cellos. I like that they can sound dark and forebodding and yet they can sound light and gentle. I love the 'cello rock' band Rasputina. They are so great. Their goal is to show the world the versatility of the cello.
