Toddler Smoking....Is This Sick Or What?

Toddler Smoking - This is a picture of a toddler in Asia smoking, while his parents look on and have a laugh...Disgusting!

I found this video while browsing the internet and it just made me so mad, not to mention sick to my stomach. I hate smoking in general but to see a young toddler doing it, while his parents and their friends look on and find it to be the funniest thing, well that just turns my stomach. Can you imagine what this kids lungs will look like when he's a teen or an adult? My mother was in her 50's when she had open heart surgery. Even though she had quit smoking a decade before that, her docters told her that there could be complications from her smoking for twenty years of her life. I couldn't imagine the complications this little boy could have in the future, from his starting to smoke at such an early age. I just can't understand why a parent would sit down with her child and teach their toddler to light a cigerette, inhale and even flick his ashes. It's just disgraceful! No wonder why this world is going to crap, here's a prime example right here...In any case, here's the link to the video: http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNjk1NzcwMDA=.html?full=true What do you think about this toddler smoking?

The parents obviously think that smoking is cool and not as a health risk. I think they are not good at anything that's why smoking is the only thing they could think of teaching their son.

I couldn't watch this all but yet I couldn't believe what I was seeing! Not only was he puffing like a pro but lighting it himself! Holy Cow! RED FLAG! Fire danger, what people do in rasing their kids is amazing. And I worry about my kids with soda or tea. I never ever would think anyone anywhere would be promoting a smoking tot! I'm going to have to copy this link to my Myspace and e-mail!

I agree, it's just completely nuts. I definitely think that parents like this shouldn't be parents at all. It's so sad... Thanks for your responce!

I see that video as nothing less than child abuse. The toddler does not know what harm he is causing himself and the attention hes getting is welcomed by him and just encouraging him to keep doing it. It is our job as parents to love and protect our children...I dont see that here. Would you knowingly poison someone you loved? These parents should be investigated for such behaviour

I agree, it just plain out child abuse. Honestly, I'm really shocked that they let this video continue on YouTube. Someone should have reported these people the minute it was posted on the site. The only reason I posted it on here was because I was completely shocked and sickened by the whole thing...

This is ridiculous. How could a parent allow such a thing. I think social services should get involved.

I agree, I think that was incredibly disgusting. I don't know why they did that, taught the baby to smoke and actually encourage and say "smoke smoke smoke!" That's soooo horrible. People like that shouldn't have kids.

That is just horrible. People that do stupid stuff like this should not have children. And where is child welfare when this is going on? I'll tell you right where they are knocking on someone's door that is probably taking care of their kids but someone thought it would be funny to call DHS on them. They harass people that are taking care of their kids and usually never catch many of the ones that are not taking care of their kids until it is entirely to late. Yes that is our wonderful system working against the good and for the bad. Anyways that is a whole nother discussion. God bless this child and I really hope something will be done about this but I doubt it. Have a blessed day everyone.

I completely agree with you regarding the child care system in the USA. However, I think that this was taken in another country. I'm just wondering what the heck their child care system is like if things like this are not only taken place but are openingly being shared with the world. Something needs to change with that system because it's obviously not working and it's just sick! Thanks for you comment!

Oh yeah, I heard this story! It's horrible! I can't believe how terrible some parents should be. Makes me almost wonder if people should have a parenting license. If they have any issues that would interfere with their ability to be a good parent, or if they fail a parenting test, they don't get a license. If they pass, they better not do anything wrong. I don't like that idea at all, but with the enormous number of unfit parents there are nowadays, I wouldn't be surprised if they really did it!

I would hate to see something like that take effect but like you said, it just might be what this world needs to make it a little better place. I mean, these kids are our future and do we really want them to copies of the generation that came before them? I would think not, since they don't seem to be doing much good for our society today. It's definitely something that needs to be considered and worked on... Thanks for your comment!

That's dim-witted! I mean, who on earth would allow his/her toddler to smoke? What is his/her parents thinking? They are sick! i hate smoking either and i wouldn't allow my kid to do that.. smoking is dangerous to health! it can lead to a lot of diseases such as heart disease, stroke, lung cancer, cervical cancer, thyroid problems, bronchitis and emphysema to name some.

Oh, I definitely agree but the worst thing about this whole thing, is the age of the kid. Is just so unhealthy to his growth. It has been proven that smoking can stunt a person's growth. So, we have to wonder what in the world it will do to this toddlers growth in the long run. The whole thing is just ridiculous and this kid needs to be taken away from these people asap.... I'm not even going to watch it, I think it would give me nightmares. If I were you I would report this video to youtube. There are stupid idiots out there who actually think this is funny, and they could do this to their own children. Why would anyone do this???? I seriously hoped that will all the health warnings in schools and on TV were having an effect, but obviously they aren't... Sick Sick Sick Sick Sick!

I am also having the habit of smoking ,started during my college days(15 ears back)and within this 5 years of my start i was able to feel some difference condition, which is going bad. I am struggling to give up, but unable to.I can realize now the harms. If we see that video, that boy is not inhaling now,he is imitating what he is seeing very often among his parents or some other. But sure,he will start to smoke actually. All because of our useless culture.

I'm glad that you're seeing that smoking is not good for your health, My mom smoked for twenty years and she had to give it up because she was getting to the point where she couldn't breath or it was hard for her to do so that. She got sick very sick one winter and that all but made it worse. And you know about a little over a decade after that, she had open heart surgery and they told her before the surgery that there could be added risk for her because of her smoking for so long. Even then, after a decade of her stopping. I really hope that you can find a way to take your mind off cigerettes and find a way to stop because it would be the best thing you could do for your health and the health of anyone that you may smoke around. I know it's hard though but it will be worth it in the long run.... Thanks for your comment!

This is honestly one of the worst things I've seen in quite sometime. Like you mentioned the health, but also the child's mental health when he looks back later in life and realizes what an unhealthy horrible thing his parents taught him to do, knowing it would damage his health.

Providing that he relizes that but with parents like this raising him, I would be surprised if doesn't go on to teach his kids to do the exact same thing. Ugh...It's just so sick and twisted... Thanks for your comment!

I have to wonder what kind of laws to they have there on Child protection. This child would have a better chance at life with a foster parent. Parents like this don't need children. I just don't understand how parents could treat there kid as some kind of sick side show

I agree, I really have been wondering that myself. It's obvious that the laws there need to change, if stuff like this is allowed to take place... Thanks for your comment!

That's really sick. To let a toddler smoke like that! What kind of example are they setting here, for their child. It's really crazy. I really don't understand what was going through these people's minds.

I really wish I knew but I don't. It boggles the mind to think of what was going through these parents minds, not only letting their toddler smoke like that but just teaching him to do it in the first place. It's just too sick for words... Thanks for your comment!

The child is not even old enough to understand the extent of damage that smoking could do to him. If the child were older (I would prefer eighteen years as it is in the United States, but I don't know the laws that the child is under where he resides) I wouldn't be so upset because at least he would have made a decision knowing the risks involved, but he is still juts a child! As you said, I cannot imagine how much damage the child might get or even already have before he's an adult. I didn't even watch the entire video, just enough to verify what is shown in the photo that you included. I hope that this is illegal and that the parents are punished for it.

Yeah, at least then he's aware of the what smoking is and what it includes. As a toddler however, he can't understand any of that. It's just crazy and I agree, I really hope that it's illegal and that these parents have to answer for their actions but sadly, it's probably not illegal where they're from but I think that it certainly should be, if you ask me... This isn't just wrong... it's wicked. No parent is going to do this and have a healthy well adjusted teen or adult. And then to post it for the world to see? This is what the child welfare folks never seem to catch.

I know and it's just really so sad...Though, sadly, it may be legal in his country but I just don't see how or why it would be. Ugh...If it is, it definitely shouldn't be and these parents should have to answer for their actions... Thanks for your comment!

Definitely and it's really sad that things like this are openly allowed to go on and also be posted publicly for the world to see and yet, still no one does a thing to rectify the situation. It's beyond sad.... Thanks for your comment!
