In my country many unborn babies were killed because they were girl child, in my society boy carries your own blood line in to future generation and girls are to be given away in marriage. They in old times had no right in parental property. Even now they are denied this right. Hence to put a stop to this selective killing abortion was made illegal but sadly now it has led to an increase in female infanticide. Girls are either thrown away or strangled at birth itself. It has been happening so much for past few decades that now in some villages of Gujrat they can not find a girl for their son to marry. I feel serves them right but then it has led to another trend that i two brothers sharing a wife.
Sometimes it makes me feel look at it any way its the girls who always end up getting a raw deal.

Ohh you have a unique country. Are this people not guilty of doing this to their baby girl? Is this tolerated by your government? What a shock!

Its all done in the darkness of night and generally its a community thing so police fails to gather any evidence and if a kid is found its given to an adoption agency. It does make a news headline but since girls are seen as a burden to the society which is a massively imbedded thing even in government workers no one has been punished for it so far as far as I know. Justice is not that quick in my country and many infanticides take place in remote areas or rural areas so generally gets unreported.

Well, in our country it's not allowed, but there are still a lot of young women who do it because of their own reasons. It's their life and we can't do anything about it. It's just sad that others purposely do it because they just don't like to have it. For me, it's life in their womb and they don't have the right to abort it. They're lucky, they have given the chance to conceive and have a child of their own.

yes that's right joyce. In our place that's the common case. Fetus just left behind at the garbage...you're right some couples are longing to conceive, longing to have a child or another child but they just can't for maybe some medical reasons or something...
But for those no-conscience women they can afford to lose it..they were just thinking of themselves not the child they would have to abort..Good day joyce

My home country allows abortion up to 24 weeks pregnancy. Abortions can be done free on charge on the National Health Service of at a legal allowed abortion clinic. The cost would be a few hundred pounds for an early abortion say up to 9 weeks and be over one thousand pounds done at a late stage like over 18 weeks. I would never have an abortion and would say that I am pro-life. I know that abortion is illegal is some countries like the Republic of Ireland so some ladies seek an abortion go to England. Some ladies that live in Malta go to have an abortion in Italy. In poorer countries some of the ladies have a back street abortion and that can place their health at risk. It is a shame that abortion is allowed in my home country. Some European countries have a limit up to 12 weeks and I think that is better than a late limit like 24 weeks.
