I am having a hard time coming to terms with what has happened here over the last couple of days.
The death toll from the bushfires is climbing as more bodies are recovered from the disaster areas, some still too hot to enter.
Disturbing images of scores of burnt out vehicles on the roads, abandoned motorbikes in the middle of the road, many people are still missing and unaccounted for.
Entire towns have been obliterated, reduced to ashes.
The fires were so intense and huge, those nearby had little or no chance of survival.
Walls of fire ripped through the forest faster than cars attempting to escape.
I also wish to pay my respects to all of those affected as well as the family of Mr. Brian Naylor, who perished along with his wife in the blaze. Brian Naylor was a newscaster here in Melbourne for many many years. While Brian was still doing the news, there was a song that would play, "I know everything I need to know, 'cause Brian told me so."
Over 130 people have now been confirmed as having been killed, as the days go by, more tradgedy is expected.
This has been our worst fire ever.
Police have announced that any firebugs caught will be charged with murder.

Hello, Adelaide appears to be safe for the moment.
They have however been experiencing extreme heat over the past few weeks.
There have been fires near there, but the main firestorm that occured was mainly in other states, Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia.
Hoping your friends are safe and well.

I'm a Melbourne boy, lived there for 55 years, and my condolences to all who have suffered. If we think for a minute how we feel if we lose our wallet, or misplace our purse, well imagine the suffering of those who have lost everything must feel, not to mention those who have lost loved ones.

I heard about this on our local news. It sounds absolutely awful and when they mentioned arson, I was so shocked. What areas are affected? We have some family andfriends over there. Our thoughts are with you and all who hve suffered!

Hello, my wishes for the safety and well being of your friends and family to you.
It seems that Victoria and New South Wales are bearing the brunt of the inferno.
Estern Victoria has been ablaze for over a week.
