Can you drink a pure bitter melon shake?

Few months ago, my dad was confined due to a very high range of blood sugar level. The attending physician during that time told us that it reaches 240mg/dl where normally it should be 100mg/dl or something. The problem is, he doesn't want any medicines. He refused to take even a simple tablet for his condition to get better. Because of this, the nurse has given us a waiver to sign stating that the patient refused to all the medications being offered blah blah blah. That afternoon my dad told my sister to make a bitter melon shake and bring it to the hospital for him to drink. He didnt eat from dinner until breakfast but drink the shake instead. Then came the nurse and tested his blood sugar level again, but to her surprise, everything is normal. Unsatisfied with the result, she called the nurse who took the first test and argued with the previous test. As they discuss things, my dad is smiling behind. How bout that guys?
