true friend - truth or lies?

Our friends usually run to us whenever they have problems or whenever they had a fight with their loved ones. And some of them always expect us to take their side because of course, they are our friends. But would you rather lie to make your friend happy and let them hear what they wanna hear? Or does telling the truth no matter how much it hurts make you a true friend?

i would tell the truth straight up in there face because they would heal sooner or later but it kinda depends on the situation

I think that telling the truth, even if you know it's not what your friend wants to hear, is part of what makes a true friend. I'm sure not everyone would agree with that. However, I expect my friends to tell me the truth. If I'm seeking advice, I would never want or expect them to just tell me what they think I want to hear. Asking a friend's advice would be meaningless if they're not going to give their honest opinion and tell the truth.

..being a true friend is being true to yourself.. If you think your friend made a mistake then it is better that you tell her before anything goes bad.. my friend before would even get angry at me.. we yell at each other but we are still friends.. friendship would surface even in troubles and in peace.. i hope you get what i mean..
