Scrub vigorously?

Do you usually scrub certain dishes regularly before placing them into your dishwasher? Or does your dishwasher usually get that clingy stuff off of your utensils during the washing?

I don't normally scrub anything before putting it in the dishwasher. I will sometimes soak a casserole dish before putting it in, but no scrubbing.
