I Suffer from Schadenfreude...Do you?

I went to see Avenue Q on Saturday with a few friends of mine and while watching the musical I diagnosed myself with SCHADENFREUDE.
Don't know what schadenfreude is? Well basically, it is happiness caused by the misfortune of others.
I have had this for many many years and I am betting a lot of you suffer from it as well and just never knew it.
For example...
Have you ever clapped when a waitress falls and drops a tray of glasses? And ain't it fun to watch figure skaters falling on their @$$es?
But what really sealed the deal for me is being on the elevator and hearing someone shout "HOLD THE DOOR!" No, screw you! That's what stairs are for!
I find it funny I get diagnosed with Schadenfreude at a musical and lupus at the orthopedic surgeon. At least I agree with the schadenfreude diagnosis.
So who else here suffers from schadenfreude?

Personally, I don't suffer from this. However, many people around me do as I have a habit of dropping things, falling down at unexpected moments and missing elevator door closings, and that causes no end of merriment for people. I am my own slapstick comedy in progress. I'm glad to know it's affect on people now has a name............................

I was shocked to learn it had a name myself. In fact Ryan, my husband, and I all agreed that this is what we have. Missy, being Missy, says she does not suffer from it, but she does. She is just in denial. :)

Only with my family - unfortunately. My dad once walked into our glass sliding door and my mom and I rolled on the floor we were laughing so much. Meanwhile he was in serious pain and he even had to have surgery. At the time though and in retrospect, it was funny!!!

Just the night before we went to the musical I elbowed my husband in the nose. I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe. I apologized during my fit of laughter and he said,"You apparent concern is overwhelming." Which just made me laugh all the harder.
I think this is hereditary as well because my 12 year old used to shove me in puddles when she was two and pee herself laughing.
